Jon Carl in Boston

A brief outline of my time in Boston, MA, and surroundings…

After fleeing Princeton Theological Seminary (see Jon Carl at Princeton Theological Seminary), I moved to Cambridge, MA, in the summer of 1990, eager to brush up on my Latin at Harvard Divinity School where I matriculated as a candidate for a Master of Theological Studies degree.

On April 25, 1993, I attended the March on Washington for LGBTQ rights and was impressed by the feeling of camaraderie and liberation. Apparently my date who had traveled separately was feeling more of the liberation than the camaraderie. When we returned to Boston, we soon became no longer boyfriends.

I left Boston in August of 1993 with a broken heart which I hoped to heal by moving to Washington, DC.

More to come…
